Since returning home from The Photogrpahy Show last weekend, I feel that my photography has entered a new space.
Reading different books on the subject, just like studying magic, has opened my eyes to so many different concepts, basic principles and brilliant minds within the craft.
I have come to appreciate that the greatest camera without question is the human brain - combined with thought and imagination.
A great photograph begins in the mind, the brain is then put to work to solve a big problem, how can "I" translate the image I have in my mind into a beautiful photograph. The imagination works with the subject to be photographed and the camera is then used to bring it all together, a work of art.
In this last week, my camera has made so much sense, it's like everything is beginning to "click".
Still a lot to explore however, my frustration has now transformed into unlimited possibility.
Three big breakthroughs this week:
1: Understanding the mystery of Manual Mode Priority Exposure.
2: Shooting my first ever silky smooth waterfall.
3: Photography at Night
With these breakthroughs now comes the practice, just like a great piece of card magic.
Stay tuned I hope to have some awesome images next week.
