Kunming was one of my favourite cities in China. The first thing that struck about this beautiful place was the fact that it was the only city in China where I experienced blue sky.
This may sound really strange but throughout my tour, all of the cities I visited was covered by a blanket of white smog. Kunming was the one city where the weather was absolutely glorious.
The city was dominated by numerous skyscrapers and yet didn't feel as claustrophobic as New York City. I mention New York because Kunming has the same vibrant energy. The traffic was a competition for the next available space on the roads. Every motorist fought for himself, the pedestrians plus people on mopeds all in a hurry to get someplace fast. The images I captured reflects the city in the full flow of life, intention and energy – I loved it.
