Cats are intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a function.
A camera walk on Sunday afternoon yielded the most wonderful surprise and moment.
When I saw Mr Ginger down at my feet outside a family home, I was struck by how peaceful he was..."just being".
It was a glorious moment because I got connected to the great way of life, "THE TAO". To just "be" is one of the greatest gifts and moments we as humans can experience - peaceful and serene in the present "now".
I find it interesting how animals never lose sight of their authentic nature - they never pretend to be anything than what they are. This has become one of my favourite photographs and I feel very happy and proud that even with my limited photographic skills, I was able to capture this picture perfect moment with one of gods divine creatures.
This photograph will forever remind me to "be still", to "be present" and to be true to my "authentic nature".
Thank you "Mr Ginger" for teaching me the value of celebrating the present moment with you.
I just saw an extra-ordinary program about the life and times of Vivian Meir.
IMAGINE - "Who Took The Nanny's Pictures?": this program was presented by Alan Yentob and his investigation into the life of Street Photographer Vivian Maier. She was a Nanny to wealthy families in the New York and Chicago area. Throughout her life, she took thousands of candid Street Photographs. Vivian fell on hard times later in life and could not afford to keep up the cost of storage of her thousands of rolls of film and personal possessions.
The amazing thing about this story is the fact that all of her possessions went to auction including her thousands of rolls of unprocessed film I must stress. Vivian passed away in 2009 and all of her possessions were discovered by various individuals. Her rolls of films have been discovered and her work is being seen for the first time.
She left this world without any recognition for her talent as a photographer. The blessing in disguise is that the discovery of her lifes work will shed light on this extraordinary women.
The BBC documentary is excellent and can be viewed on BBC iPlayer
