I really enjoy experimenting with different Prime Focal Lengths.
So far, my experimentation has taken in the 35mm. 50mm and the classic 85mm. Today was the turn of the 60mm and I really enjoy this focal length. It feels perfect for my eye - with the 35 and 50mm a little more leg work is required and yet they both delivery outstanding results.
The 60mm lens is wonderful, beautiful colour reproduction and magical bokeh for depth of field. This lens also features macro functionality and it is wonderful. I love close-up photography and the 60mm field of view gives a magical 1:1 reproduction with beautiful clarity. So here we have a lens which covers a wide spectrum of subjects. It is great for street photography and shooting people, along with close-up fine work.
On my DX camera crop sensor it gives me view of 90mm. When I move up to Full Frame
photography, I hope to see the FX field of view with this focal length. Any lens I buy now will be FX for future compatibility with the D750 or D810.
For now, enjoy this modest sampling of images,
