I have just returned home from Norway, specifically Stord Island. I was spending time with my friend Steinar Thelen, celebrating his 40th birthday. Stord Island is simply beautiful - full of natural surroundings and yet fully equipped to support the locals to live a very harmonious life with their surrondings. With the weather being perfect, it supported me in enjoying my time and with my camera in hand, I was able to capture some wonderful moments.
This shot of flowing water was a special moment because the environment was full of natural energy. My friends told me, I looked ten years younger when I returned after this shoot. I could only put that down to the natural energy field in this part of the woods where I found this lovely spot to shoot from.
With my camera close to the waters edge at a low vantage point, perched on my tripod, I took a few shots at just under 2 seconds to capture the smooth flowing effect of the water,
I love this shot, it captures the energy I experienced perfectly.
The town centre is full of photographic opportunities, I was spoilt for choice. The harbour alone was full of riches which communicated an idealistic place to live.
I am very attracted to the natural landscape and man made structures - it adds a texture to the environment. From the images below, I was taken by how the people here can live on the water as easily on land.
This final shot gives a real sense of the environment - natural and perfect.
