A dear friend of mine Vladimir Stimac invited me over to lecture at his Day of Magic in Zagreb.
This was my first time to Croatiaand it proved to be a very enchanting visit.
I first met Vladimir in 2006 in Stockholm as part of The FISM World Championships of Magic. This was our first meeting since then - time has really flown for us both.

Today was my only opportunity to visit the old townand it was well worth it. It has retained a lot of its charm and history. Whilst taking some photographs, my instincts felt that keeping the depth of field to around F/16 would present all of this vast open space in good focus and communicate what a wide and open environment this old town has to offer. During my walk, I came across what looked like an old model of the town, in fact that is exactly what is. The photographs speak for themselves, it really is a beautiful site. The highlight of the walk was seeing Zagreb Catherdral. It was under construction, however it didn't ruin my appreciation for this great historical work.
Although my time was short, I found the experience very up lifting. I watched normal people going about there day in a very calm and serene manner. In fact, that is how I would describe the people I met and observed, calm, peaceful and serene.
I am grateful to Vladimir and his lovely wife Pattama for their wonderful hospitality.
